Camouflage Nail Art with Tutorial

Hello all,

I was bought camouflage colours ages ago but haven't ever got round to using them so I thought it was about time.  I also haven't done a step by step for ages, so I have done one for these nails.

The colours that I have used are Mushroom by Barry M, and Becca's Brown, Grace Green and Mushroom (I will now add MO after this when referring it to it in the rest of this post) all by Models Own.

I decided that I wanted to do the camo print on my ring finger and thumb and then use the three colours that I used for the camo print on the other three fingers.

I started with a base coat and then used Barry M Mushroom for the base colour on my camo nails.  I then used my Models Own colours for the following - Grace Green for my index finger, Becca's Brown for my middle finger and Mushroom (MO) for my little finger.  I used two coats on all nails and left it to dry.

To start my camo print I dropped some of my first colour onto some scrap paper and used my dotting tool to add blobs of Grace Green in random patterns across my nails.  After this had dried I did the same again with Mushroom (MO).  I made sure that some of these blobs overlapped the green and then left it to dry.  I then repeated the steps again with Becca's Brown.  This gave me my completed camo print.  In some areas you might want to go over some patches again with your first colour, but it's all personal choice.

Whilst my camo was drying I used a glittery gold striper to add a single line slightly off centre to the rest of my nails.  I thought that this would add to the army camo design as it would look like badges/medals etc.

I finished off the whole design with a thick coat of top coat so I didn't smuge the colours into each other.  You could use a matte top coat if you wanted to as this would look more like camo material, but I like my nails glossy and shiny.

I hope you enjoy this design and tutorial - you can follow the step by step in photos below x
