Lady Queen Water Decal Review*

As I'd done something quite simple with my nails last week I fancied doing something fun and colourful, and luckily as I was coming up with some ideas I got some exciting nail mail.  I was contacted by Lady Queen.com a little while back and they asked if I'd like to review some of their nail goodies.  I chose some rainbow geometric patterned water decals and some gold bow nail gems.

What you get
I chose the square geometric rainbow patterns (QJ-L075), and you get one sheet, but it's jam packed with individual decals.

There are various different sizes of squares, in four different colours, and as you can see there are some that are blocks of colour and some that are just outline shapes.  You also get long strips of tiny squares in different patterns and colour combinations, so there are so many different options with these particular decals.  You could pair them together for a full manicure like I have, or you could use them as accents.

Application
Personally, I find water decals very easy to use, but you do have to be a bit patient to get the look you want.

1. Paint base colour and leave to dry
2. Cut around desired decals
3. Peel off protective plastic film that's on the top of the decals
4. Place decal into water for 10 - 20 seconds making sure the whole thing is covered in water
5. Carefully remove decal from water (I used tweezers for this and the next step)
6. Gently slide the decal off the backing paper
7. Place decal in position on the nail
8. Seal in and protect your decal with a top coat

I love the end result you get with water decals because they are so thin you don't end up with thick lines around the edges of each design.  I have actually been able to lay one decal overlapping another one on this design, but I don't think you can tell which one it is.

Overall
These decals were really easy to use and position on the nails, but I did find they took a little while to set in position before I could add my top coat, so that's something to be careful of if you are doing a full manicure like mine.  I layered these decals over a base of Models Own Snow White so that the colours really stood out, but I think you would be able to use them over other light coloured bases as they are opaque enough to still stand out.  You might have a bit more trouble with darker polish colours as it might show through, but it could be worth a try.

These decals are the Rainbow Houndstooth Pattern Nail Art Water Transfer Decals QJ-L075 and are currently on sale for $1.25 (normally $1. 76)^

Lady Queen have been nice enough to offer my readers 15% off orders using the discount code KDLC15, so if you are interested click on the image and it will take you directly to their website.

As I mentioned earlier I also sent a nail wheel of gold bow gems, so keep an eye out for them on my nails soon, but in the meantime here's a little look at them so you can see what they are like in person.
