Models Own: Sticky Fingers Review*

Hi all,

I've got another review of one of Models Own's latest collections.  I am a bit behind on talking about this one because of a theme I set myself for the month of March, but here it it... better late than never.  In March Sticky Fingers were launched.

Sticky Fingers are mini nail art kits that include a bottle of polish and a sheet of nail art stickers.  There are seven different options to pick from; POW in Red or Black, Pastel Petals in Lilac or Green, Drops and Blobs, Sweet Candy, and Bows.  Whilst the colours are not exclusive (other than maybe Pastel Petals Green), you have the added extra of the nail art stickers.  They are priced at £6 each making them only £1 more than a regular bottle of colour.

As you can see from the first picture the packaging is lovely and they are cleverly put together to make it look as if the sticker designs are printed on the lid of the bottle.  You can't see it here, but each sheet has a narrow strip, two stickers wide at the edge of the sheet to hold it in place in the box.  The stickers are cute and colourful, if a little thick.

Drops and Blobs comes with Snow White.  This is such a good white polish and goes on really smoothly.  The colourful paint splat style stickers really stand out from the base polish.

Pastel Flowers Lilac comes with Lilac Dream.  I love this colour, it's such a pretty pastel purple.  The flower stickers have a bit of vintage feel and are pretty and delicate.

Sweet Candy comes with Nude Beige.  I hadn't tried this colour before and I loved it as soon as I put it on.  These stickers have to by my favourites, a collection of sweets, cakes, and other yummy goodies.

I have to say that overall I am a little disappointed with the stickers.  As I said earlier, they seem a little bit thick, much thicker than other nail art stickers I've used before.  As you can see from my pictures, the edges of the stickers don't blend in with the polish too well and I would worry that they would peel off after a little while.  I tried with top coat and without (Pastel Petals is with top coat) but didn't notice much difference.  Perhaps they needed a couple of coats of top coat to seal them in place.

I think there is potential for these as there has been a lot of care put into each of the designs, I mean look how cute that little gingerbread man is!  For me I think these will be good as a stand by for a quick addition to a manicure.

Have you tried any of the Sticky Fingers collection? I'd love the see if you've had better results, leave me a link so I can take a look

  1. Great review! I agree these stickers do seem a bit thick,I think they would have been better if they were perhaps water decals! I haven't tried any of the collection yet, I'm still undecided if I should but I agree the stickers are so cute! :)

    1. Thanks! I love the gingerbread man and the sweets. I think water decals would have worked really well, but I suppose that would have stopped them to be so easy to use. I have tried other stickers before that were thinner and they seemed to blend better. These will be great for a quick addition to jazz up a manicure though

  2. These have so much potential, but you're right, they don't seem to blend in with the polish too well!! I saw on another blog that there was issues with the stickers peeling off after a little while, did that happen to you too?
Beautifully painted though :D (and that gingerbread man is adorable!!!)

    1. Even after top coat they curled up a bit at the edges so I didn't leave them long enough to see how long it would take to peel off more. They have huge potential, just perhaps a bit of a rethink on execution needed. Otherwise they are lovely and would really add to a manicure! Thanks for your comments x
